"The aged women likewise, that they be in behaviour as becometh holiness (reverent), not {false} accusers (slanderers), not given (addicted) to {much wine}, teachers of {good things}..."-- Titus 2:3
Definitions and my comments:
Reverent: Feeling or showing deep and solemn respect. {Do we truly respect each other or are we quick to withdraw our love from one another without really looking into scripture to see if we should?}
Slander: Make false and damaging statements about someone. {Are you quick to judge me? Remember slander is "false" statements about someone else. If you don't know it's false, maybe assuming it is could be hazardous to someone's life or keeping someone oppressed who needs your help (Proverbs 31:8)}
Addicted: Physically and mentally dependent on a particular substance, and unable to stop taking it without incurring adverse effects. {A little wine with your spouse and friends that are also only light drinkers - not drunkards - is okay once in awhile.
Good: That which is morally right; righteousness. {Titus 2 women can teach EVERYTHING that is good.}
I think allot of Titus 2 women in Blogland tend to put off younger women because they seem to shun us for not compartmentalizing our Christian walk only to verses Titus 2:4-5 section, if you're married and have children. I could be completely wrong and it could just be the devil bugging me. But this is something that's been itching for awhile so I thought I'd nip that in the bud rite here. It seems to me that the parables of "The Good Samaritan" (Luke 10:25-37), and "The Rich Man and Lazarus" (Luke 16:19-31) should be demonstrated to our children. Don't get me wrong, the family unit is very important but IMO when it comes to daydreaming of a sparkling clean house for our families to live in vs. helping another {Sister}in want by at least offering to say a little prayer with our children for their situation once in awhile (1 John 3:17)... How is that demonstrating the Love of God to our children, or even helping build up "The Body of Christ" (The Church as a whole?). Why can't we see it like a broken finger that needs mending for the Lord's sake when we have the resources to help???
If you were bleeding and the doctor decided it was too gross to sew you up because he didn't like the sight of blood how would you feel?

Or what about the doctor that uses any old remedy because he failed to really study you so he just pushes you into the cold salty sea and callously says feel better? Would it cause you to doubt all future doctors? {I'm talking about "christian trolls" who like to wear their "white lab coat" for all to see and are very quick to blindly diagnose and treat the distressed patient.
